Yong Pil Choi

Versatile Art Director

I harmonize graphic design, fine art & filmmaking expertise to produce captivating experiences.

I have experience of about 15+ years of design and 10+ years of film & TV production. For the past 9 years, I have done various package and art directing projects at a beauty company. It's been exciting to stay up-to-date with the latest market trends and work with different teams, including marketing, product development, display, sales, and buyers, to make sure everything is geared toward sales. I also improved systems, created manuals, and trained team members to ensure efficient operations.

My strengths are quickly visualizing concepts, making decisions fast, working efficiently, and collaborating with others. I excel at solid project management and problem-solving and enjoy overseeing the development (from the visual concept to packaging, display, photography, video, & website) with a clear creative vision. I can provide appropriate alternatives with my understanding of branding, marketing, and market needs.

Artistic Background

As a child, I discovered the joy of drawing, letting me escape into my creative world. As I grew older, I expanded my creative pursuits, crafting mini universes in miniature form and bringing unique characters to life through cartoons. In high school, I became a pro at my craft and even founded Busan City's first-ever Miniature Contest alongside my two buddies, a milestone achievement for my artistic world.

However, as my thirst for deeper creative expression grew, I decided to pursue a fine arts major in university. I immersed myself in painting, sculpture, and video installations there. I even took a double major in Digital Animation to enhance my skills in dynamic visuals.

I participated in numerous exhibitions throughout the university, showcasing my works and nurturing my artistic growth. Upon graduation, I was honored to be recognized as one of Korea's Top Five Young Artists as a video artist, reaffirming my commitment to a life of creativity.
